UGA Research article, "Gorillas can tell human voices apart," highlights Dr. Roberta Salmi's research methods and findings. In the article, Dr. Salmi discusses gorillas' ability to recognize familiar human voices. The article also discusses the Animal Cognition article, "Who is there? Captive western gorillas distinguish human voices based on familiarity and nature of previous interactions," by Dr. Salmi, Dr. Caroline Jones, and Zoo Atlanta's Jodi Carrigan.
