Support the Department

There are many ways to support the Anthropology department. Financial contributions are most welcome, but we also appreciate our alumni who give their time to speak to our current students and new graduates by providing advice about careers in specific areas. Be sure to update your Alumni Profile!

We would love your support

The Department of Anthropology appreciates your financial support. Every dollar contributed to the department has a direct impact on our students and faculty. Your gift is important to us and helps support critical opportunities for students and faculty alike, including lectures, travel support, and any number of educational events that augment the classroom experience.

If you have questions about giving to Anthropology, please contact the Franklin College Office of Development at (706) 542-3581 or Franklingifts@uga.edu

Giving Online to our Funds

  • Anthropology Fund - Your support helps bring in speakers of note, provides student research funding, assists in student fieldwork and conference travel, and creates new resources to further enrich each learner's experience.
  • Anthropology Graduate Student Support Fund - Initiated to create a scholarship in memory of Ashley Block (1991 - 2016). Ashley was a vital member of the Ph.D. program in anthropology and integrative conservation. She was enthusiastically engaged with numerous Athens communities as well as with her colleagues in the department’s Anthropology Graduate Student Organization (AGSO). Her stellar intellectual gifts were more than matched by her warm and generous spirit.
