Logo: "Anthropology Writing Lab Est. 2024"

The Anthropology Writing Lab is staffed with Writing Intensive Program (WIP) writing coaches trained to support you in your writing process.

This includes help with:

  • Brainstorming ideas and topics for class papers and projects
  • Discussing strategies for outlining and structuring your writing
  • Discussing citation practices, including how to avoid unintentional plagiarism
  • How to edit and revise productively
  • How to respond to feedback from your instructor or TA
  • Thinking and writing as per the conventions of anthropology as a discipline

Things writing coaches cannot do include:

  • Copy editing (checking spelling, grammar, etc.)
  • Pre-grading (confirming an assignment is done correctly)
  • Fact-checking and assisting with subject matter comprehension

The Anthropology Writing Lab is located in room 105A of Baldwin Hall. The lab space includes space for meeting with writing coaches and individual writing practice.

It is not possible to schedule meetings at this time but we look forward to seeing you during drop-in hours as per the calendar below.
