Brett Parbus: "I'm Spiraling:" This little guy is a species of single-celled organisms called foraminifera. They only live in saltwater environments and despite creating relatively complex shells similar to mollusks, are only about the size of a white blood cell!

Brett Parbus: "The Underlying Symmetry:" This mesmerizing creature is what is known as a diatom, a microscopic microalgae sometimes called the "jewel of the sea" due to its opalescent colors and satisfying geometry. Fun fact: diatoms generate roughly half of all the oxygen on the planet! I just think they're neat!
