Hi! I am a Portuguese PhD Candidate in Integrative Conservation and Anthropology at the University of Georgia. My work in Madagascar began in 2016, when I first traveled to the island to work with lemurs, and I have continued my research there ever since. My current research focuses on the Critically Endangered Perrier’s sifaka (Propithecus perrieri), examining how these lemurs share landscapes with people and how human-sifaka interactions and space-use strategies may shape parasite transmission. More broadly, my research interests include primate ecology and conservation, human-wildlife interactions, and One Health, particularly how people and wildlife navigate shared environments.
