Department of Anthropology Elevates Undergraduate Writing

The Anthropology Department at the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences is set to elevate its writing curriculum in the 2024-25 academic year. In collaboration with the Franklin College Writing Intensive Program (WIP), the department has crafted a comprehensive writing plan designed to integrate writing deeply into the curriculum, support student writing development, and enhance overall learning.

Associate Professor Jen Birch expressed enthusiasm about the new initiative, emphasizing that it will help students not only produce polished written work but also use writing for discovery, deepen their knowledge, and communicate with diverse audiences. WIP Director Lindsey Harding emphasized that these efforts will build a stronger culture of writing at UGA.
